Problem electricity

Dear all,

I haven’t completely come to grips with the way the electricity operates here. I have an apartment. When I cook with the oven on and eg one ring, and then put the kettle on the electricity trips. Individually all appliances are OK. Can anyone suggest why this happens?

It is driving my wife bonkers, and I’m getting hassle for not sorting it. All sensible answers much appreciated.
