Wanted, shop to rent torrevieja / los altos area

This was tried by the chap who runs the shop in La Siesta square, he made space available for himself and put in a load of DVD's for rental. I think it lasted about a month before he packed it in. I seem to remember there was something about getting hold of the DVD's and them being very expensive or something. I am sure you will be getting the discs through the appropraite legal Spannish channels, not just renting out your own DVD's or ones you have bought seconhand from Blockbuster or in Poundland?

I think you may have hit a raw nerve there placebo but i think you may be right! I think a dvd rental business in this area is a total pipedream! In fact on another post he is advertising himself as a kitchen,bedroom designer.Perhaps mark is a jack of all trades but a master of none. lol perhaps a typical north west chancer!

Very nice to see there is a lot of friendly people out there - NOT, But you know what they say '' Don't let the b******s get you down. My wife and i have been running a dvd business for 15 years so we know what's within the law and not. Yes i am a kitchen designer and will be looking for work as my wife and i both work. (probably unlike a lot of the sad people having a go at me on this site). Having said all that i have had some very helpful advice also and will be following some of it up after christmas, (thank you to all the genuine people that have been most helpfull).

Hi, Really can't understand all the hostility ?. Im looking for some help not an argument. I would like to thank all the genuine people who have contacted me however i will be seeking advice elsewhere as this site seems to attract a lot of idiots (probably convicts on the run). No hostility on my part. I have given you sensible, serious advice. To do DVD rental here legally isn't as straight forward as you may think. You need to find out about how and where you get the DVD's from and how much they cost. If you set up and rent out your own discs you'll be closed down and probably heavily fined. Like I said I have given you good advice, if you choose to ignore it and just just listen to the "rose tinted spectacle" brigade then that is up to you. Just because you don't like what some people are saying, it doesn't mean it isn't correct or genuine.

Yes I agree too - if all he wants to hear is 'Yes go ahead you will make millions' then fine, but unfortunately it is not the truth. Many people I know have now worked out that the new Spanish freeview system (called TDT) broadcasts loads of films over the 60 odd channels most of which you can set to receive the original English soundtrack. Even the Spanish can't make DVD rental shops pay any more. Just because things may work in England it does not mean that they will work here.

Firstly good luck with your venture and I have to agree with madasafish , there are too many people who are always willing to put you off. Last year i bought a car hire business in spain and there was people saying the same sort of thing as others have said on here.
