Athletics Information

Hi,

A group of 3/4 of fairly elite Irish athletes from a University team and are intending on staying in a house in Torrevieja, not far from the athletics track. We were wondering is there a gym there and how much does it cost to use the gym/track? As well as this is the track in good condition?

We are going on the 26th of January and our options are to stay in torrevieja or in alicante city so this information is vital and other information would be very helpful.

Athletics information

Hi,
I am from Dublin and holiday regularly in Torrevieja. We were over recently and my son used the Gym called Sports .In
Its located between the shop Sprinter( sports shop) and Carrefour (large Shopping Centre) about 15 mins walk from the athletics track. A weeks membership cost Euro40 and my son (17 years old) found it good.
I am a runner but never ran that athletics track as I much prefer to use the trail runs around La Mata Laguna and the Bike Tracks between Torrevieja and Quesada.
I just fly into Alicante so cannot offer any advice about there .

Thats great thanks Ray. Two of us are very interested in the gym side of things whereas im more looking from a trail perspectives. Are those trails around the salt lakes or are they different ones? I dont know the area too well. The house we will be using is reasonably close to the carrefour( the bigger one), so if these trails are near there that would be great. I have emailed the track anyway to find out if there are any gym facilites there.
