RECOMMENDATION FOR FITTING CEILING FANS

Can anyone recommend someone good and reliable to fit 4 ceiling fans with lights at our property in the Guadarmar area.

We also need to know where the best place is to purchase the ceiling fans. We have been told not to buy cheap ones as they pack up. I know they are available at Carrefour but I have been told by an electrician in Spain to buy more expensive ones that will last a lot longer.

Can anyone gives us a rough guide of price of a good make of ceiling fan.

Hermanos Garcia just along from the Park of Nations have a fairly good selection (make sure you go to the bigger of their two stores there - nearer Carrefour) and will fit them for you as part of the price of the unit.

Did the 3 fans you got from Torrevieja have lights for that price?

Also if you bring over fans from the UK will we be able to find someone to just fit them if they are not supplying them?

Yes they included a light. Not played out with them much as stuck in the UK but I think you change adjust the blades up or downwards

Costa Blanca News and the like have dozens of adverts by 'tradesmen'. I would prefer a Spaniard to fit them as in a foreign country. Also, I prefer a reputable shop rather than an advert

Villamartin Plaza the electrical shop there will sell you the fans and fit them for no extra charge.

You are paying for the fittiing in the fan price, it's not free fitting.
You can get them about half price for DIY fitting.

For the DIY, I would recommend 4 screws. Also leave out the hanging rod and mount the fan directly to the ceiling - it won't wobble about if it's fixed this way. Leaving out the rod is an option in the instructions so it is quite legit.
