Actually, you should have said "Una" palabra and your post should have been "La" mujer. Mine should have been "El" hombre.
If we're learning Spanish, we may as well do it right. I know tons of words and phrases by ear but my spelling is often pretty crap!

Actually "hambre" is a funny one. You would think it would be masculine as in "el hambre" but it must be feminine which creates a glotal stop - la hambre because it's not "Tengo mucho hambre" it's "Tengo muchas hambre". And anyway, why are you always hungry?

Thanks for that one. I had to get the dictionary out. I'd never come across it before but, again, I must ask you to include the article - i.e. la cena.

              My word: la verda

                It is tengo mucha hambre.

Yes hambre is feminine but it is el hambre because you use the masculine "el" before a stressed initial vowel.

(As the "h" is silent the "a" is treated as the initial vowel)

Of course, it should have been LA cerveza!

What about something to eat with all this alcohol?
                              Una tortilla Franchesca con queso?
