Complaints Books in Spanish business establishments?

I recall being told that every business is required by law to have a 'complaints Book', which must be available for perusal by somebody in 'local officialdom' (the police?).

Can someone confirm that this is so, and what is the Spanish name for such a book, so that, if the situation arises, one could say "The Complaints Book, please!".

I should add, maybe, that in 7 years' living here I have (so far) never really felt the need ...... unlike in many establishments in some other countries!!

Hi, I too have never asked for one (nor have we been asked to produce ours) but you never know. The name of this book is La Hoja de Reclamaciones (or an Official Complaints form). The white copy should be sent by the person making the complaint to the Consumer Terrotirial Service (address is on the form). They keep the green copy and the other copies go to the firm under complaint. Proof of the problem is meant to be provided and apparently the Service should advise what should happen.
