Christmas returns to Habaneras with its traditional Solidarity Bridge

Solidarity lives in each one of us; it wakes up to situations of injustice, in which something within us impels us to reach out and help those who need it most.

Christmas is a date that awakens, especially, this sensitivity, and the Habaneras shopping center is always linked to honorable social causes. An example of this is the celebration of its traditional Solidarity Bridge, which is held every Christmas.

Feel the solidarity in Habaneras from the 1st of December until the 7th of December, in the central square of the Centre, from 10:00am to 2:30pm and from 3:30pm to 8:00pm.

On the 1st and 2nd of December, under the premise of “United for Africa“, different local NGOs join forces with whom we will collaborate to give voice to their projects and collect aid for the different tasks they represent. During these two days you will be able to attend a vibrant exhibition of African-themed paintings by Mª Lourdes Martínez local artist. Discover also typical Sahara clothes exhibition, carpets and other textiles in aid of the Saharawi village; and the stand of Nueva fraternidad Torrevieja, where you will also be able to buy Rwanada typical crafts.

During this bridge, you will have the opportunity to meet the people behind these projects, as their work. These will have their own stands so you can find out about everything.

From 3rd to the 7th of December we will have the visit of ACNUR. Learn more about their campaign under the motto: #SOYUNLOCO of ACNUR which we have joined with their hashtag. They also bring us the photography exhibition: “The Most Important Thing”, by Brian Sokol. With photographs of refugees from all over the world; people who, before leaving their homes, were only able to pick up the objects they considered most necessary before leaving.

Put yourself in their shoes as you look at these images and ask yourself what you would take if you had to flee, what that object would be so important to you.

Besides, in Habaneras *solidarity has a prize*.

On the occasion of the concert “The Film Symphony Orchestra“, to be held on Saturday 15 December at the International Auditorium of Torrevieja, at 19.30 in Habaneras will draw, among all participants of the Solidarity Bridge, two double tickets to attend the concert, and that the winners will pick up at the box office, the same day of the event.

This Christmas, live solidarity in Habaneras, with the Solidarity Bridge.

Enjoy Christmas at Habaneras
