Rachel J, please contact me via englishbullterrier@btinternet.com, it will bypass this forum.

Your offset dish should have elevation marks on it, which needs to be set to 36.7 (ie, 37) degrees and the dish needs to point 28 deg East of South. I have a small satellite finder box that gives an audio signal when the satellite is found, and then it's a case of fine tuning. Then your Humax will auto install. I'm quite willing to give you a hand if you'll pay my diesel (and you're not too far away from Los Altos !!!

    Hi there EBT,

We are trying to set up a 1.2 offset dish with Humax Freesat boxes for the first time.

Do you have any tips on set up, please?

A satellite installer from another area has tried to help us and we have been using the co-ordinates from dishpointer.com but are getting nowhere fast! All we have at present is that it is 'searching for the satellite signal'.

    Thanks!

Hi, my dish, including ground stand, feedhorn, twin output LNB was 545 Euros from Nortons in La Zenia. They are good folk who will also install for a fee. I installed my own.

My Freesat was sent to me by my Son, from Argos, it's the High Def Humax. But, Nortons also sell Freesat boxes. Let me know if I can help further.......ebt

    See here for channels available.....

Freesat channels available on Astra 2.

Hi I have been watching this thread with a great deal of interest. We are not sure which way to jump with this situation. Can you let me know how much the dish was, where did you get it and how much was the freesat box and what programmes you can receive, do you need a viewing card? We bought a Spanish aerial and system which is okay but we do miss BBC and ITV channels. We live at the top of Quesada and would appreciate any advice Thanks

At last we seem to have confirmation having read today's round town news that the company has gone for good, that is how I read it anyway.

At least we now know that we need to make other arrangements if we want to watch T.V

Still confusion over which company is safest to use to keep up and running.

Sky will never be legally shown again so if anyone advertises that it is legal best keep away from that company.

I think I might chance a free to view option with no sky ( other than Sky News ) at least that way you are only paying a one off fee.

Hope you all sort something out soon

I think that the 500 million euros (or possibly in excess of) is the current value of the estimated non-payment of content license fees stolen / borrowed (without consent) plus the sums of the under-declared revenues obtained from the poor unsuspecting viewers (60,000 gross - 17,000 declared).

It is worth noticing that other re-broadcasters have allegedly formed a legal consortium (apparently headed up by a Lawyer) in order to attempt to provide a united front in the event if / when the next wave of piracy actions are initiated...

These guys working in harmony conjures up some wonderfully vivid pictures (and could be worth a TV series in it's own right!!!)

One Torresat sales rep told a friend of mine that the reason that they were not re-broadcasting was that Torresat had their very own satellite up in orbit.... Honestly! He expected my friend to believe that they had enough money to firstly build a satellite and then put it in orbit...amazing!!
So thats why they built that huge sling shot up on the quesada hill...

Some people just never seizes to amaze me.

We've had a couple of cowboys coming to our urb offering to re-position dishes and fiddle with the coshop box in order to pick up Torresat signal for a mere 30 euros. Bet Torresat would be well impressed !!!
