I was summoned to the Guardia Civil in Torrevieja for an interview with the Judicial Police. I was told in no uncertain terms that if we continued to supply Sky viewing cards then they would close us down, before you all start saying that Sky cards being used in Spain is not illegal etc, they dont see it that way ! My views on the legality fell on deaf ears, they are adamant "continue to supply Sky viewing cards and we will close you down" I have to comply and as such will not be supplying any more Sky viewing cards.

He will reply because it will be another free advert for him and there are people that will make use of it.

Again...
It is illegal, but the Spanish police has MUCH better things to do (like closing down illegal installers) than going into your private house and check what you are doing within your own home.Originalmente publicado por skytvinspainIt is not illegal to receive sky tv in spain in the privacy of your own home with your own dish and your own box and your own official sky card. Borrrrring !!!! As I said in my previous posting I think that everyone, with the exception of a few "terrier" types who won't let go, know by now what the situation is and the risks involved. Why continue this endless pointscoring contest which SKYTVINSPAIN must be loving !!! Move on ................

Because...
Every day, people are coming home from their holiday in England, finding their tv-screens here in Spain black, jumping onto google trying to figure out what has happened. Some might even order a system from skytvinspain (I am sure he is making a fortune right now) thinking that it is legitimate when he tells them so.Originalmente publicado por patoc Ver MensajeBorrrrring !!!! I don't really mind if they do. I don't mind him making the money. I just think it is proper to inform about the risk involved. The risk for a private person in his own home: not getting the service he paid money for.

Paranoia!
There is only a need for me to have one identity on here. I do connect via my ADSL-broadband from telefonica or my mobile (using the Opera reader) using the Movistar network.Originalmente publicado por skytvinspainGoing to leave John73 and his other identities the stage.....
Remember even if you're not paranoid, they are still out to get you!

Off topic, but I think Dinastia (Punta Prima) and the one named M-"something" on your left hand side entering the Playa Flamenca Centre from King Cod.Originalmente publicado por skytvinspainLOL. I must say "I miss the Chinese food up on Costa Blanca" "I found it by far a lot tastier and cheaper than down on Costa del Sol"
But since you once tried to drag me to Quesada for a big debate about illegal TV once, I expect that you are located there. I always thought I got best value at the one by the garage, next to the living room/sofa bar/Hungarian Irish pub.

[QUOTE=skytvinspain;18138]skytvinspain, You really have no idea do you. Another "professional" ex pat that knows all the rules , laws & legislation etc. If you looked at my post you will see that YES IT WAS a post on a forum, a post from the said company BROADBAND COSTA BLANCA SL, look it up on the internet and / or call them.Originalmente publicado por Chrisdee Ver Mensaje
Horses Mouth? More like it was posted in a forum... I can only quote the facts as printed in the Press...(FACT)
Plus I have never read any News Stories and I cannot find anything relating to "Company selling sky cards shut down" I have just done a Google search, have you got SKY TV at home? (bet you have LOL)
The reason that i posted his statement was for members of this forum who have no financial gain with regard to sky but to let them see that it is illegal. But hey, you know better than the spanish authorities. You love the word (FACT), it amazes me you class the reports in free papers like RTN as (FACT)!!!!
Oh and by the way, the reason you aint heard about his post is cos it only got posted today, if you read it you would see that.
Last but not least, when clicking on your link to your website, i can only say i wernt suprised that it wouldnt load up! Hiding something? Avoid pirate cowboys money grabbing installers at all costs!Editado por última vez por bobbit; https://torrevieja.com/forums/member/1795-bobbit en , 22:19:35.

Lets find out!
[QUOTE=skytvinspain;18193]Originalmente publicado por bobbit Ver Mensaje
I agree with you Bobit avoid "RE-BROADCASTED" illegal TV and get yourself a satellite dish with an official sky box and official sky card, I have just spoken to one of my customers who's neighbour had paid a years subscription to a re-broadcaster only to have the plug pulled the next day!
I hope that anyone that reads this thread can work out what is "really" going on here as certain members are clearly "anti" satellite engineers but for what reason????
Taking into account the slanderous comments from some of this forums members I would like to hear a direct response to my thoughts, I have referreed to them by number and would like a response by number.
1. No satellite engineers have been arrested. (FACT)
2. When a sky card is de-activated because SKY finds out it is in Spain
(1 out of a 100) it takes 24 Hrs to get you back online. (FACT)
3. There are NO stories on Google, MSN, Yahoo or ASK about satellite
engineers in Spain being arrested for selling and or installing sky tv its
products and or equipment "search yourself" (FACT)
4. It is illegal to "RE-BROADCAST" TV Programs without permission from the
TV show that has produced said TV show. (FACT)
5. It is only against the sky tv user agreement to use sky equipment outside
of UK. (FACT)
6. "The legislation would only affect those receiving re-broadcasted signals
through mesh dishes, as satellite dishes receive a direct, legitimate signal
from Sky or alternative broadcasting networks" This is what was printed in "Round Town News" (FACT)
7. I can supply a 1.9 satellite dish with a sky box and a sky card for €1,199
(FACT)
8. The SKY satellite signal will never get turned of by the Guardia Civil (FACT)
9. 99% Of the people that call us are "NOT AWARE" that receiving illegaly
re-broadcasted TV programs is the same as buying a PIRATE DVD as it is
an infingement upon copyright Laws. (FACT)
These are the comments that I have made on this thread at various stages, I have not responded to childish comments as I think they speak for themselves and I have not responded to some nasty comments as they are clearly unfounded. I would also like to point out that everyhting I have said above points 1-9 is FACT not ex-pat gossip or bar talk.
Lets also not forget that;
If you are not using official sky equipment or not paying sky a subscription then tv produces, tv production companies, music publishers, actors, actresses are loosing out on valuable income, take a look at how the Music Industry is currently suffering from pirate dvd's.
If you want to receive your own satellite signal in your own home for your own private use with your own official sky box with your own official sky card then take a look at my website or give me a call or if you have any questions send me a PM.
I like many other happy people have sky tv in spain, i enjoy watching bbc itv ch4 ch5 sky1 movies its great...shame about Top Gear on a Sunday night I feel it has gone down hill since that Richard Hammond and James May joined the show. Anyone with SKY TV in Spain reading this thread let us know if you are happy! and lets try and convert these non believers.....
No doubt point 7 is (FACT), with regards to everything else lets see once and for all. Ive emailed these questions amongst others and the relevant websites offering services to the relevant authorities (SKY, BBC, Freesat & UK TV Licensing etc) and await their response.

[QUOTE=diamond;18202].......... and if this doesn't work I will then contact the Spanish and UK Governments, the EU Parliament, the Pope, and even GOD if necessary but I will stop these people enjoying SKY tv channels in Spain if it's the last thing I do !!!!Originalmente publicado por skytvinspain

It has gone from being boring to downright petty now, so I now begin to emphasise with SKYTVINSPAIN. At least there is no hidden agenda here, so let's here it for SKYTVINSPAIN - hip hip ........
