TBH I'd be happy if the soaps never came back on - then I wouldn't have to spend every night in the office while the missus watches them. I do miss my motorsport tho, and as that is usually on eurosport I dont worry over losing sky sports either. Football - (the new religion) - an over rated game played by over rated players whos cheating skills far outweigh any ability they might have.

Well I cant understand whats going on. After reading Chrisdee's post this morning I decided to check out what was happening as I was going past the Quesada offices (main transmitter) on my way to a job. I called in and the place was still covered in Guardia tape and it was obvious that no one had been in there. I spoke to a spanish guy in the garage next door and he said that no one had been there since the guardia raid.

So either they are setting up somewhere else with new equipment (hence the time it is taking to obtain new stuff), or someone is trying to start up in their place and nick all of their customers.

Again the last paragraph is pure speculation, as are most of the posts on this subject, but all I know for sure is that the Quesada end of things is a no go area.

Britbuild, when I called Telmicro yesterday they advised that the main transmitter in Montesinos is up and running, I called on the same number as I always have 902877303 and they answered, so I can't see that it's another company pretending to be them. Maybe Quesada is one of their transmitters but not the main one?

I have just joined the forum mainly to see what is going on with the tv in spain. We have a property in Dream Hills Orihuela Costa and have been told the telemicro has gone down . Reading the messages it seems that some tv has come back on down to the Montisinos office which is only down the road from us. Is this still correct? We are hearing all sorts of conflicting information and because we are in england do not really know what is really going on. We are coming out on Saturday 6th and whilst we are there would like to get tv back so any details would be much appreciated.
Apparantly, some channels have come back on in the Gran Alicant area ie Santa Paola.

I am in Gran Alacant and my neighbours and I have no programmes !
I did hear that some people in Gran Alacant do have reception including BBC 1 ?
Who knows the truth !

When we all get some TV from Telmicro what programmes of interest will we actually have ?
Sky News , BBC World News ,
Spanish stations that I can get on my Digibox (27 stations). Teledeporte ,
La 2 show plenty of football (Aston Villa v Liverpool at 5pm)
MGM , Xtreme , Cinestar film channels (never found much to watch on these stations in the past )

If we don't get BBC1,BBC2.ITV. CH4 and CH5 (the channels we really want) is it worth 20 euros per month just to watch the news and an occasional film of interest ????? (get those on my digibox in english)
I get the feeling that they are going for quantity rather than quality !
I hope I am wrong . Time will tell !

Fully agree, it's just the fact that something has appeared on our screens and we sit with baited breath waiting for BBC's and ITV's which I don't think will happen because it's not allowed. Urghhhhh. Certainly not worth 20 euros a month just for the news, I only paid by 192 euros on the Friday and it was cut off on the Tuesday, another urghhhhhhhhhh.

I cannot see any difference what channel they bring back first ?
So, it would be logical to bring back the channels that everybody wants !
e.g. BBC , ITV ,CH4 and CH5.
Why have they not put any information on proposed channels on their information channel in the areas that are now receiving some programmes ?????
Why have they not announced anything on their website ???
Do they believe that the Brits are so desperate for their "Telly" that they can bung us anything in English and we will pay !
They may well be correct ????

I don't understand why they haven't put a notice up on their Telmicro channel, surely that is a simple thing to do. They know word would get around within minutes to the ones who wouldn't be able to view it. Plus the fact, has anybody heard any announcement on the radio? I haven't been listening so I don't know. Perhaps they have issued a statement via radio?As has been said so many times, we've just got to sit and wait and see.

Hi again

Thanks to you all for the information at least it keeps me in touch before we return on Saturday. We have been doing a lot of research from the UK and the last letter in the Costa Blanca news said that according to EU law if you fit your own dish and digibox and set it up yourself, ie not through a third party it is legal, because you are not selling it on. Research up to now indicates that with a 1.4 m dish and digibox you should be able to get the essential channels i.e. BBC 1 and 2, ITV etc plus other channels which are free to air. The UK now has a system called freesat but do not know if if is going to work for spain but have been told that it is going to be in Spain. If anybody has done what I am proposing any help would be very much appreciated, my DIY skills etc are very good but when it comes to TV/Sattelite and digiboxes I get very confused. Have, however, downloaded info from the net as recommended by the letter in Costa Blanca news which I read online so hopefully it will work - fingers crossed -
