Not sure what to do

I received an e-mail today from homeaway advising that the villa I have booked with Costablancalive is no longer on their site and may not be available for rent. I rang them and was advised somebody would ring me back straight away. No-one did. So I rang again and was advised someone would ring me back straight away. I later rang again just after lunch only to get their out of office recorded response advising me of the opening hours. I was hoping they could enlighten me to the position with my villa. We are due to go on 21st July and now am unsure whether we have it booked or not. Can anyone give me advice?

I got this email today too. I actually emailed holiday-rentals.co.uk last week and am still yet to have a reply. Customer service doesn't appear to be a priority :/

I got an email today from Tamla Motown(??) who says that the treagusts live very near La Parata Hostel in the hills fof Mojacar. Apparently he is running a magazine called Eurosaver where local businesses advertise with him and paying monthly but no such magazine has yet appeared. Amanda is the one signing up the businesses. I emailed back to Tamla Motown asking where she had got my email from but unsurprisingly the email came back saying not delivered.

I have tried to search the website and cannot now find it - is anyone else finding the same problem!?!?

hi everyone. We are new to this forum but we think we have been scammed aswell. We are booked into a villa which we found on the holiday rentals website. we were introduced to john and amanda treagust. We paid the deposit, all was well. Then a month ago after we paid the balance we have had no communication from them. We sent an email to holiday rentals and they informed us that the villa had been removed from the website. This is when we started to really worry and came across this forum.

We are now wondering who actually owns the property that we are supposed to be renting. We have spoken to the police today and have been advised that we need to somehow prove that a crime has taken place. We figure if we can find the owner of the villa then we can get in touch with them to get this proof which would either help us from a crime point of view and possibly help us recover our money through the civil courts.

So, please can anyone help us find the owner of this property:

You can put the address into google maps and it is the property on the left hand side when you look at streetview.

Any help is much appreciated and we are so grateful for all the help we can get.

hi marie, i had an email from them the exact same day but only after we had emailed them. What villa did u book as we have also paid the full balance and no longer have the villa to go to. Please see our other recent post detailing the address of the villa we booked and paid for , Paula and Stuart

hi paula and stuart, my family and i are due to go away with marie27 and as it stands now we have no villa!! we have less than 2 weeks to find somewhere else as we have paid for the flights and dont want to lose that money as wel. the villa was advertised on home and away holiday rentals, it has 6 bedrooms and is in los balcones, it also has a hot tub on the roof, we dont know the address!!

Not the same villa but the we are in the same circumstances. The police referred me through to Action Fraud the government fraud team and they have taken all details. We are in the process of searching another villa but with less than two weeks to go and a 10 day option we are up against it.

Costablanca website is now no longer accessible. I have tried to make contact with them on numerous occassions to no avail. Holiday- Rentals advised me on Friday that they were looking into it and will be updating me next week which will probably be of little use.

Hi Stupoll, That is my villa which was removed for the coasta blanca live site earlier on this year after not receiving any rent and being left with hugh energy bills. I now have it advertised with another rental agent who are turning out to be very very good. Sorry to hear of your plight but if you still want to rent my villa you will need to go to their site to re book. They are Novvasol.

Thanks very much for your response. I have checked the novasol website. Please would you mind emailing off the forum as I think it would be really helpful to talk to you either on the phone or via email in terms of:

1. helping us claim on our travel insurance, or

2. pursuing the holiday rentals/home away website through the small claims court here in the uk.

3 also the police here in the uk need to have some kind of proof that fraud has been committed.

To be honest, we think there is little point in pursuing the treagusts for money, thats if we can even find them. Hope you dont mind me asking you to do this as I know it is nothing to do with you but if you wouldnt mind helping us out we should be really grateful.

Hi all

For those who have been scammed and are due to fly soon, I thought you might wish to know that we phoned easyjet today who we had booked our flights with and told them that because we have been scammed, could we have a refund or change the flight details. They have agreed to cancel our flight and give us a full credit on account. All we have to do now is make a booking within the next 6 months (dont even have to travel within that 6 months) so at least we have time to save up for next year and the flights are already paid.

Probably going camping in this country now this year but at least we havent lost over 1200 quid on flight because we cannot afford alternative accom.

We rented the villa: Galgos - Don Juan, Orihuela Costa, Spain, 03189 Lomas. From 30/07 to 13/08. John Tragust sent us an email the week last to say that it is ok.
Who knows this villa? or its owner. Please give info if you have.

The villa has 3 beds and a bed settee in the lounge so can sleep upto eight people. It is free for the 10 days you require but I can't quote a price on here. Please send me your email and I will reply and try to help out.
