“Women, Legends of Sport” is an exhibition that celebrates the trajectory and achievements of women athletes of world, national, local and University of Alicante renown, showing how they have left an indelible mark on the history of sport.
The exhibition can be visited until October 19, 2025, at the Tavi y Carmona Sports Palace in Torrevieja, with free admission.
The exhibition brings together iconic objects such as Blanca Fernández Ochoa’s skis, Carlota Ciganda’s golf club bag at Paris 2024, Simone Biles ‘ jersey as North American champion in 2023, Yelena Isinbayeva’s record shoes or Megan Rapinoe’s jersey as a world champion with the United States in 2019. In addition, it includes sections dedicated to local athletes and the University of Alicante, complemented by accessible audio guides narrated by leading sports journalists such as María Escario, Olga Viza and Paloma del Río.
Organised by the Sports Museum Association in collaboration with the University of Alicante, the exhibition highlights the excellence, dedication and history of women’s sport, combining historical objects with multimedia and educational experiences.
