Group exhibition “Weaving posidonia”
The collective exhibition “Tejer posidonia”, an artistic exhibition that was born from a participatory process developed together with residents of Orihuela Costa and that uses collective creation as a tool for environmental awareness.
The exhibition can be visited from October 5 to December 7, 2026 in the Cultural Space of the Dehesa de Campoamor Yacht Club
The exhibition includes the result of different meetings and workshops in which the participants have worked with textile materials and natural fibres to create a collective creation inspired by the Posidonia oceanica. Through weaving, compositions and artistic experimentation, the project invites us to discover and value the importance of this marine plant, which is essential for the conservation of Mediterranean ecosystems.
“Weaving posidonia” proposes a dialogue between art, nature and community, highlighting citizen participation and the need to protect the natural heritage of the coast. The initiative seeks to bring knowledge about posidonia closer to the population and generate a shared reflection on the conservation of the marine environment and the identity of the coast of Orihuela.
