A married couple between 30 and 40 years old drowned today on La Mata beach, at the height of the Torre Vigia, as reported by firefighters
Seeing that the couple could not get out, up to 4 people tried to swim out to reach them
This tragic event took place today around 1:44 p.m., when it was noticed that the couple had difficulty getting out of the sea.
Upon arrival at the scene, firefighters from the Diputación de Alicante found that the two people were apparently lifeless on the sand, after being pulled out of the water by other bathers.
Being in cardiorespiratory arrest, the firefighters began to perform basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation without success.
