A 250-metre section of the access road to the Villamartín urbanization in Orihuela Costa is going to be asphalted.
The large holes in the asphalt cause daily traffic delays and breakages in the wheels of the vehicles.
As of Monday, January 24th, the asphalting and painting works will begin, and are scheduled to last 4 weeks.
The stretch of road between the La Zenia roundabout and Calle Unamuno is going to be recovered and painted, according to the local Orihuela Costa police.
Since the construction of La Zenia Boulevard shopping centre there is ten times more daily traffic on the access road to the Villamartín Urbanisation and other Urbanisations such as Montezenia and Las Solanas.
Dozens of heavy trucks cross this stretch of highway daily to supply the shopping centre.
Given that this road has 2 lanes in each direction, one lane will be cut in each direction for asphalting, which will most likely lead to significant traffic jams on the N-332 road.
The pedestrian crossing that crosses this road has been patched with asphalt for several years, which is barely maintained.

The asphalting of the access road to La Zenia Boulevard shopping centre is continuing.
The cobblestones on the pedestrian crossings have been replaced by asphalt.
They have also proceeded to put asphalt “patches” in the areas that were most deteriorated.
