The Alicante Institute of Culture Juan Gil-Albert presents the exhibition “Alicante, a western province in the 60s”, an exhibition made up of a selection of posters, photographs and film material belonging to the collection of John Sanderson.

The exhibition can be visited from July 2 to September 1, 2026 in the Mengolero Room of the Rodeo Caves in Rojales.

The exhibition brings together a careful selection of original pieces, including film posters, shooting photographs, hand programmes and various promotional material of the time, offering a unique vision of the phenomenon of the western filmed in Alicante.

Through this exhibition tour, the visitor will be able to discover how the landscapes and municipalities of the province were transformed into scenarios of the Wild West, hosting national and international productions that left an indelible mark on the cinematographic history and collective memory of Alicante.
