The last moments of the life of Jesus Christ come to life in “The Passion”, a stage proposal of great emotional intensity that offers a poetic and flamenco reinterpretation of the Gospel story, moving away from the traditional format to focus on the human, symbolic and spiritual dimension of the Passion.
The play will be performed on Saturday, April 11, at 8:00 p.m., at the Teatro Circo de Orihuela.
It is a scenic-musical production based on texts by the poet and flamencologist Félix Grande, in which flamenco, cante jondo and the poetic word become the narrative axis of the show. The play does not belong to a traditional theatre company, but is an artistic staging conceived as a contemporary stage liturgy.
The musical direction and the main interpretation are in charge of the singer Paco del Pozo, who gives voice to Jesús and leads a staging marked by sobriety, emotion and the expressive power of flamenco. Music and words dialogue to explore suffering, dedication, doubt and sacrifice from a profoundly human perspective.
