Until October 14, 2023, the Cultural Society Casino de Torrevieja is hosting the first solo exhibition of Conchita Montesinos, a local self-taught painter.
The exhibition is composed of 43 paintings that cover landscapes, flowers, forests, seascapes and, above all, places in Torrevieja.

Last Saturday, September 30, the exhibition of the complete works of the Torrevieja author CONCHITA MONTESINOS was inaugurated at the Cultural Casino of Torrevieja, 20 years dedicated to the art of painting that everyone will be able to enjoy until October 14.
The arthritis that this wonderful, kind, creative and sensitive woman suffers from in her hands is an example of overcoming for all people, because it has not prevented her from continuing to do what she likes most, capture her feelings and essence through painting, an art she considers Therapeutic and Healing; “Painting for me is the most relaxing thing for me, I can be hour after hour and not feel the passage of time“.
The self-taught author who expanded her knowledge through the municipal school of painting of Torrevieja, has been painting for years with the illusion of one day being able to show her work in such an emblematic building for the social and cultural life of Torrevieja, a space very appreciated by her as is the cultural casino.
Conchita was nervous, her happiness at being able to exhibit for the first time, her forty-three paintings at 71 years of age, could not avoid the whirlwind of emotions that comes with facing public opinion when showing your work. In the exhibition she was surrounded by friends, family and personalities of the culture of our city who did not want to miss the opportunity to see her complete work and in the first forty minutes she sold two paintings to curious people who passed by and found these paintings of varied themes, oils on canvases that for the most part portray places in the city of Torrevieja.
His first painting was “The Harlequin” only painting that is not for sale and the last, so far, the one that indicates in the photo the day of the inauguration and has as its title “The pergola of the Vistaalegre promenade”.
Conchita opened the exhibition with these words among others: “I have always felt a great fondness for painting. When I see a motif that impresses me by its colors or shapes, I have the need to transfer to the canvas my way of seeing it” and wished us to have a pleasant time and enjoy her work as much as she has done with each brushstroke, in addition to thanking from the bottom of my heart all the attendees.
Although Conchita Montesinos has previously participated in group exhibitions with the Municipal School of Painting, this is her first foray into the world of solo exhibitions.
For this special occasion, she has decided to bring to light a series of paintings she had created in the comfort of her home, giving visitors the opportunity to learn about her artistic evolution over time.
The exhibition can be visited until October 14 in the main hall of the cultural casino of Torrevieja.
