From Thursday 3rd to Sunday 6th August, festivities will be celebrated in honour of San Emigdio, co-patron of Torrevieja and protector against earthquakes
All events will be held in the Park of Nations
PROGRAMME
- Thursday, August 3: Inauguration of the “Barraca Popular” at 9:00 p.m., followed by a great raffle of gifts and a performance by a musical group.
- Friday, August 4: At 9:00 p.m., raffle of gifts and performance by a DJ.
- Saturday, August 5: At 7:00 p.m., there will be a children’s entertainment event and a free snack will be offered to all attending children. Then there will be a new raffle of gifts and a new musical performance.
- Sunday, August 6: At 20:00 hours, in the Hermitage of San Emigdio (located inside the Parque de las Naciones) a Eucharist will be officiated in honour of the co-patron of Torrevieja, proceeding then to make a solemn procession with the image of the saint accompanied by the band of the Torrevieja Musical Union (UMT).
The route will run through San Policarpo Street, Bilbao, Santísima Trinidad, Barrio Molinos, Plaza del Calvario, San Emigdio Street, José Hurtado Romero “El Felisia” and, again, to San Policarpo Street to return to the Hermitage of the Parque de las Naciones.
After the procession there will be a fireworks display with which these popular festivities will end.
