Rock Against Cancer is an annual musical event dedicated to raising funds for the fight against cancer in Torrevieja

The 6th edition of “Rock Contra el Cáncer” will take place on September 8 and 9, 2023 at the Antonio Soria Park in Torrevieja (next to the Friday Market area).
Rock Against Cancer was founded in 2009, with a first concert organised by brothers Neil and Nigel Wyatt (owners of the most legendary bar in Torrevieja: Monroe’s Rock Cafe Pub) to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the bar.
We want to invite each and every one to participate and live this great two-day festival of music and fellowship, all focused on raising funds and awareness about the importance of prevention in the detection, research and treatment of cancer.
This year, we have the best tribute bands in Europe:
- The Liverpool Band – Tribute to The Beatles
- Midnight Riders – Tribute to Bon Jovi
- Bryan Adams Tribute Band from Denmark
- The Boss – Tribute to Springsteen, from Denmark with “his Street Band” in full.
- The Hellhates, Finn Lizzy, and Luis Blacknight
- Astrosonic
- Almost AC/DC from Denmark
- SAD Metallica Tribute Band. This Italian band is recognised as one of the best tributes to Metallica, with more than a hundred shows throughout Europe during almost two decades of their professional career.
- Linkoln Park – Tribute to Linkin Park. It is an explosive show brimming with energy and vocal and musical quality.
They will also have great varied food on offer:
- Argentine barbecue and empanadas
- Signature burgers with the best fresh ingredients

- Thai food
And good news for vegetarians and vegans, because they can also enjoy delicious dishes.
Funds will be raised through the sale of merchandising and donations from the public.

History:
The first Rock Against Cancer festival was held in 2015.
However, the origins of Rock Against Cancer date back to 2009, when the Wyatt brothers made a donation to AECC on the occasion of the celebration of the 20th anniversary of Monroe’s Rock Café in the Eras de la Sal.
The first two editions (2015 and 2017) took place in Calle Apolo in Torrevieja, in front of Monroe’s Music Pub. In the first edition there was the guitarist Santiago Campillo (ex-guitarist of the well-known band M-CLAN), and also Fito Cabrales (Fito & Fitipaldis), who donated a Fender acoustic guitar with his autograph that was sold at auction.
After the street party, the third and fourth editions were held in Eras de la Sal in 2018 and 2019. Due to the pandemic we were forced to cancel the 5th edition in 2020.
We then took the initiative to organise small concerts in various venues on the Costa Blanca with the fantastic support and commitment of Robert Grumheden from VIKING ASSISTANCE and Lars Andersen from DVBLAB. In this way we were also able to support our local businesses and artists by celebrating Rock Against Cancer in smaller spaces in collaboration with local bars/restaurants and complying with the standards required by the health authorities.
Rock Against Cancer is a rock festival tribute to all those affected by cancer, whether personal, family or friends. It’s an evening of great music and supportive friends.
