SCAM - But still the best alternative

It did not take many minutes from arriving in Spain 3 years ago until I figured out that Telmicro was a scam. Repeatedly they have launched weird offers and provided strange and sudden unexplainable changes. Still - their fees for the service that they have provided sounds fair.

However what surprises me is that people have been paying them at all. The encryption they use is simple to hack. I hope they get back on air, if not, I will have to download my favourite programs from Descarga musica, películas, juegos, programas! The Pirate Bay - El tracker de Bittorrent más grande del mundo, rather than continuing to scam the scamers.

Has anyone heard anything about this today? We have lost ALL our channels this afternoon. We lost Sky Sports (again) this morning and since then ALL the channels have gone off including BBC and ITV.
Yes the Guardia Civil closed them down at San Luis and La Marina both establishments were taped with Guardia Civil tape. This is fact.

Their assocation with Sunshine Radio has also caused DJ' to be arrested, so I have been told

So you have your opinion which obviously differs to mine - thats fine because I respect the fact that others might not share my opinion, and have a view of their own. You, on the other hand, obviously get very irate when someone doesn't share your viewpoint, as is quite evident in your post.

Did I insult any other posters when I offered my point of view ??? NO, I just posted what I thought and allowed others to either accept it or reject it. Whereas you (and one or two other posters in this thread) seem to be unable to allow anyone else to have an opinion that differs to yours/theirs, and the only way you seem capable of dealing with a differing viewpoint is to insult the perpetrator.

So really I should feel very sorry for you as you are obviously incapable of partaking in a debate without resorting to childish insults when someone disagrees with your rose tinted retoric. But as I am not that way inclined, I will not feel sorry for you, but will allow you to continue in your childish ways in the hope that one day you will realise that your playground antics will only ever serve to display your true colours.

Oh and by the way, with regard to your very first paragraph, I have Spanish friends who have successful careers, and even they are saying that they are finding it very difficult to continue to afford to live here. But that's another debate .
So you consider it to be a serious debate saying that Spanish authorities are idiots because they wont let a company do illegal business and taxfraude just so British expats can view sky?

Yes that seems very serious. I think its a shame that they dont allow Cocaine and bankrobbery aswell. just so the colombian cartels and the russian mafia can stay and be happy here.

I rang a contact at the Costa Blanca News this AM - I occasionally write for them. They have received hundreds of phone calls and are also running a full pager on the death of Telemicro Levante and other providers to follow this week. This should also be readable on line.

I cancelled Telemicro subscription two months ago when I heard this was going to happen. They continued to try to take money from the bank though but I stopped that first of all. I strongly suggest you all check your bank account direct debits very carefully. Usually, the payment can be recalled easily but if Telemicro accounts have been frozen then you may have lost your money.

What did I find a bit suspicious two months ago ? Telemicro accounts department had mobile phone only contact - a bit odd for a sizeable company.

I don't agree. I think more and more companies will have mobile phone only. What I find odd is when someone demands an unpropotional amount in advance and does not accept payment by credit card (I belive you get a full refund if you pay by credit card and the service is not delivered).

                Telmicro Levante Transmission

                Dear forum,
I promise you nobody is as much angry or aggitiated by the current situation of watching a screen displaying E52 searching for a signal.
I have read many of the entries and concur with the matter of opinion at all levels.
Agreed, the latest package ie sky sports, setanta etc are "pay for" in the UK and we had them for "free" so to speak.
The customer service over here is terrible, however, lets not act like immigrants to our own country (UK) who will not engage with the "indiginous" and not have the good grace to learn the language of their adopted country which is good manners in the least.
There are people on tight budget who may not be able to increase their payments as I will suggest shortly, however, we're all I am sure would be happy to finance an engligh speaking tv package with the "familiars of home" ie sky name, sky sports, hallmark, ITV 1,2,3, BBC etc.
I am not an expert on spanish communal politics, but with extra funding ( minimal) could we not secure a reliable english speaking cable tv solution.
Could we not speak to the communal presidents and create a "pot" of money to ensure uninterrupted english cable TV.
I dont work for telmicro I am an IT guru in Quesada, however, having worked in the City of London for 15 years with banking chairmen can we not secure a TV package suitable for us (english) Again I reiterate learning Spanish is the correct way to go.
Please let me know your opinion.
                Thanks,

                  Torresat

Torresat have no problems, and have not been raided. Today they have finished installing the new transmitter above the office. So all should be fine now. Next week a transmitter goes up in Quesada.

Telimicro is the provider with all the problems, as I posted a couple of months ago it is all down to them not paying a 40000 euro tax bill. All the directors and there families are currently locked up.

As to Sky Sports etc, NO providers will be broadcasting them into the distant future. Sky has bought into Canal Digital here in Spain. Bars will be able to show the football matches if they pay 60 euros per match, as the Spanish bars have always had to do.

Torresat are doing a deal for 190 euros to change over to them, and have a good channel line up.

                    Dear C4S

Very good points. Telefonica delivers a TV-package with English channels legally. If I am not wrong, telemicro used this package and just changed the sound (which like on DVDs are in different languages) and rebroadcast it.

Telefónica - Servicios de Internet, ADSL, televisión, telefonía. Telefónica de España su proveedor de telecomunicaciones.

If normal procedures are followed, I expect Telmicro to go into receivership. It would perhaps be possible to buy the whole company for a very low sum. This must be interesting given their huge customer base, and could even secure that the ones who now appear to have lost their money can reclaim some of it.

                      TelMicro

Totally agreed with your statement. Being a major football fan it's typical this would happen right now. I am Windows Messenger id: v12interceptor@hotmail.com I would be interested to here how you could resolve. Do you know what channels will remain at the end of the week.?

                          TeleMicro Levante

                          We have a conundrum.
We have looked at dish tecnology to resolve out TV issues, however, there are many of you out there who know better.
What are you guys doing ?
I read some have paid an annual fee already, so did we!
We have 2 installs here, what would you advise we do without prejudice and anger.
                          Thanks

Firstly pay on a monthly direct debit, not yearly. Always insist on a factura with the CIF number printed on it, not a receipt written out on a receipt book bought from the corner shop.

                              Don't expect sky sports etc.

Do you know if the new transmitter to be installed will allow for good reception in the La Marina district. Currently they are transmitting Sky Sports, will this continue espacially for the Ryder Cup in September?
