The fire started in the kitchen of the flat and spread to the living room.
Firefighters evacuated residents from the entire floor.
Fortunately, no one was in the flat when the fire started.
A flat on the first floor of a building located on Calle Santa Trinidad number 18 in Torrevieja, caught fire last Tuesday afternoon.
At 2:36pm firefighters received notice that a lot of smoke was coming from the balcony of a house located at number 18 Calle Santa Trinidad in Torrevieja.
A command unit made up of 1 sergeant, 1 corporal and 4 firefighters from the Torrevieja station travelled to the scene.
The fire originated in the kitchen and quickly spread to the living room, causing damage to much of the house.
The residents of the building were temporarily prevented from entering the building by firefighters to avoid being affected by the smoke and possibly injuring themselves.
The cause of the fire is still unknown.
