The fugitive had a European Arrest and Surrender Order when he was arrested in San Fulgencio
Agents of the National Police have arrested a 34-year-old male fugitive of English nationality in the town of San Fulgencio.
He had an OEDE (European Arrest and Surrender Order for Extradition) issued by the UK authorities.
Through the SIRENE office, the agents discovered that he was hidden in the province of Alicante.
Having carried out the first investigations into his whereabouts, the agents located his home in the town of San Fulgencio.
In order to proceed with his arrest, they have had the collaboration of agents of the San Fulgencio Local Police.
The agents were able to identify the fugitive by one of his tattoos on his neck despite the fact that he was not carrying any identifying documentation.
The arrested fugitive had assaulted his ex-partner in Essex, UK.
The arrested person is charged with an alleged crime of injuries, death threats and damages.
These events took place in 2019 in the town of South Ockendon, Essex (United Kingdom).
The fugitive allegedly forced the door of the house where his ex-partner lived and attacked her, while threatening her with death.
Finally the victim managed to escape thanks to the help of a neighbor.
For this crime of harm to persons, the fugitive detained in San Fulgencio faces a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison.
The detainee is being dealt with by the Central Court of Instruction number Five of the National Court that will be in charge of processing the European Detention Order.
