The cultural association Ars Creatio celebrates World Book Day 2024, with the awards ceremony of the short story contest (children’s and young people) and with the screening of the short film “VUELA”

Ars Creatio celebrates its XVIII Children’s Gala this Sunday

Next Sunday 21, at 12 noon, the Virgen del Carmen cultural center will be the scene of the XVIII Children’s Gala, dedicated to the young writers of the town. As every year when World Book Day approaches, Ars Creatio begins its spring events with the announcement of the jury’s decision of its children’s and young people’s short story contest, as well as with the delivery of the books collected by the winners of the previous edition.

This will be followed by the screening of the 3D animated short film Vuela, in a special screening for this gala. Directed by Carlos Gómez-Mira Sagrado, and with a screenplay by Rossanna Giacomelli, this work, recommended for all audiences from the age of seven, was premiered in October 2020 and proposed for the 2021 Goya Awards, in its 35th edition.

Since then, the story of these two little birds – told without dialogue, only in images – has gone around the world, garnering numerous awards – 38 in the 117 festivals in which it was selected – and, most importantly, winning the affection of the public.

Ars Creatio would like to thank the filmmaker Lidiana Rodríguez Hurtado, director of the Torrevieja Audiovisual national short film festival and the production company Turmalima Films, whose collaboration has been fundamental for this event.

Admission will be free by invitation, which can be requested at the Virgen del Carmen cultural center itself, until Sunday.
