Children’s workshop: The Microscopic World of Las Salinas de Torrevieja
The Ars Creatio Cultural Association of Torrevieja organizes a workshop for children between the ages of 7 and 12 so that they can learn about “The microscopic world of lagoons”.
The seventh edition of the conference “Lagunas de Torrevieja and La Mata: cultural landscape, history and heritage” will take place throughout the month of May 2024.
Through a wide variety of activities, conferences, exhibitions and more, they will foster a bond between the citizens residing in our environment and these beautiful salt lagoons.
Starting with 4 workshops that are designed for children between 7 and 12 years old and will take place on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at the Virgen del Carmen Cultural Center in Torrevieja.
“The microscopic world of lagoons”, created by the University of Alicante-Divulga and with the collaboration of the Municipal Institute of Culture of Torrevieja. During the event, children will participate in all the workshops on a rotating basis so that they can experience each of the activities.
Hourly Schedule
WORKSHOPS FOR CHILDREN: THE MICROSCOPIC WORLD OF THE SALT FLATS
- ACTIVITY 1
- The microscopic world of salt flats.
- Get to know the microorganisms that inhabit our salt lagoon.
- ACTIVITY 2
- A hospital in the palm of your hand
- Manipulate laboratory compounds and learn about how experiments are performed in a laboratory.
- ACTIVITY 3
- The color of the salt flats
- Extract the pigments from the salt by means of acetone to understand how different colors can be obtained from the same raw material.
- ACTIVITY 4
- Searching for DNA in the lagoons
- Extract DNA from microorganisms obtained in the salt lagoon of Torrevieja.
