Exhibition “I don’t touch it anymore”

The collective exhibition “I don’t touch it anymore”, directed by the artist Mar García Torregrosa, brings together the work of 64 students from the Municipal School of Painting of Torrevieja in a proposal that explores art as a dialogue between the artist and the material.

The exhibition can be visited from May 19 to June 7, 2026 in the Exhibition Hall of the Virgen del Carmen Cultural Center.

The exhibition is based on an unconventional technical approach: working on large canvases without primer or stretcher, using exclusively a black pigment that, through a natural oxidation process, generates a rich range of shades between blues, violets, greens and ochres. The result is a set of works full of expressive force and open to the interpretation of the viewer.

Through stains, strokes and blank spaces, the artists construct suggested landscapes and evocative atmospheres that invite you to visually travel through watercourses, forests or abysses. The exhibition highlights experimentation, uncertainty and the ability to recognise the exact moment when the work finds its balance.
