SOL INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL Torrevieja 2025
From October 10 to 11, 2025, the XI Film Festival “SOL FILM FESTIVAL” will be held in Torrevieja
The 11th edition of the Sol International Film Festival will be held on October 10 and 11, 2025 , offering a careful selection of national and international short films, meetings with filmmakers and a Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony.
This festival, promoted by the cultural association “Mundo Globus de Torrevieja”, has become a benchmark for independent cinema on the Costa Blanca, with local institutional support, several companies in Torrevieja and a firm commitment to film culture.
Day-by-day program
October 10 – Opening and screenings
- The opening ceremony will take place at the Virgen del Carmen Cultural Center, where the 2025 Official Selection of short films will be presented. Directors or team members will attend to present their works.
- The short films will be screened in their original version with Spanish or English subtitles as appropriate.
- Access to these screenings is free, but with limited capacity, it is necessary to request an invitation on the website www.solfilmfestival.com
October 11 – Awards and Gala Dinner
- The day culminates with the Awards Ceremony and a Gala Dinner at the “Las Columnas” Restaurant. During the gala, the winners in the various categories will be announced and will be celebrated with live music and a red carpet.
- To attend the gala it is necessary to purchase a ticket in advance, which includes the restaurant’s menu. Tickets can be purchased online on the festival’s website.

The official selection of short films includes both national and international works.

These films will explore diverse themes and reflect current views of young, professional and auteur cinema. The crews of many of these short films will be present to present them and dialogue with the audience.
Jury, awards and public voting
The professional jury is made up of the actor Vicente Gil, filmmaker, director of the production and publishing company Cinestesia, director of the Sax film festival, qualifier of the Goya Awards Miguel Herrero Herrero, casting director, actor and producer Pep Armengol and screenwriter, director of Spanish cinema in Chile Jesús Riquelme.
They will award the prizes in the following categories:
- Best Short Film
- Best Director
- Best Screenplay
- Best Actor
- Best Actress
- Jury Prize
In addition, the audience who attends will be able to vote for their favorite short film, which will receive the Audience Award during the closing gala.
