This gastronomic brotherhood is in charge of spreading and publicising the Traditional Cocido, and especially the Cocido con Pelotas, typical of the city of Torrevieja.

The Department of Elderly People, together with the Gastronomic Brotherhood of Cocido con Pelotas de Torrevieja, has organised the V International Contest of Cocido con Pelotas.
The contest will be held on Saturday, February 3rd, at the Municipal Leisure Center (CMO), where the registered teams will prepare the different specialties of the stew, as stated in the rules, which are:
- International Stew
- Regional Spanish Stew
- Stew with Traditional Meatballs
- Authentic Torreviejan Stew with Meatballs

All amateurs and lovers of cuisine can participate, regardless of age, profession or nationality.
Participation may be either individually or representing an association, group of friends, etc. As it is an amateur competition, professional chefs are not allowed to participate in it, but they may participate in exhibition or non-competition mode.
