Last night, large gusts of wind caused 2 palm trees on the VistaAlegre promenade to fall over.
During the afternoon of today, Saturday, August 13, a significant rise in temperature is expected, which will be accompanied by large gusts of wind and the possibility of a storm with little rain.
At half past one this morning and for a little less than an hour, a “thermal blowout” with gusts of wind of up to 100 km per hour caused the fall of 2 tall palm trees on the Vistaalegre promenade in Torrevieja.
Firefighters and local police had to intervene after calls from numerous neighbors warning of fallen trees and branches due to strong gusts of wind.
The parade of Moors and Christians scheduled for Saturday afternoon has been cancelled.
