The Jazz Music Cycle “ Los Viernes del Palacio” presents the band THE VELVET CANDLES
This cycle of concerts is intended for all lovers of live music, in an acoustically privileged environment such as the Palacio de la Música.
60 years after The Platters or The Temptations topped the charts around the world, “doowop” once again has its own name. The Velvet Candles began in 2007 singing a cappella through the streets of Barcelona. Since then, Agustí Burriel, Eddie Peregrín, Mamen Salvador, Juan Ibañez and Miguel Ángel García, together with the musicians who accompany them, have become the most requested European group of this style.
In their repertoire you can find energetic rhythm & blues, pop ballads of the time and, of course, a lot of rock’n’roll. In its more than 10-year career, the group has successfully toured throughout Europe, performing in Sweden, Finland, England, Switzerland, Holland, Italy, Germany, France, Cyprus and Greece.
