A Sad Day

Hi,

I had dealings with John 12 months ago when he contacted me about advertising on our site. When we informed him we security check agents and individuals, he ceased conversations.

It is great that he has now been stopped. It is not so great that his financial gains have been at the expense of so many.

I would like to offer a free listing on WHL Villas, Self Catering Holiday Cottages, Apartments & Villa Rentals, UK, Europe. to anyone who has been affected by him. I hope this isn't seen as crass, it is just a genuine offer of a little bit of help.

we were scammed by these people last year,we rented a villaa in los alcazares and were told we could not go there on the day we arrived, were then put in a villa miles from anywhere. after complaining they moved us to another villa. the worst holiday we ever had. We would still like to rent the villa in los alcazares on calle de la isla formentera ( I think) does anyone know who owns this and if it is still to rent?

I'm sorry to inform you all that the rumour is that the Treagusts have fled the country and are now back in the UK. No details as yet.

How did you hear he had fled the country. Last I heard he was still in jail. Also he had no passport so would have to have obtained dodgy ones. From what I know, he is wanted in the UK as well so if he is still going under the same name, he won't last long. Surely the Spanish authorities did not bail him!

Berty Basset, your information is incorrect. John Treagust does not have a passport, and is not allowed to leave Andalucia until after the court case. They are currently living in Almeria. This is a fact.

Hi Mike, me, my wife and friends were also robbed by the Treagusts just over 18 months ago and while trolling the internet looking for any information that could update us on what's been happening we came across a comment on a website saying that they were back in the UK. I've pasted a link below for you to look at. Even though this is only a rumour I must say that i'm a little concerned that with the downright aggressive and defensive nature of "david james" reply above he isn't who he says he is and we may have stumbled onto something here. There surely must be a way of checking this with the police in Spain, i'm sure I heard somewhere that they had children. If they were still there then the children would be in school?? I'm now worried that none of us will get anything back from these crooks although I must admit i've thought that for a while. Dodgymagic, the treagusts were able to dupe people in the past so getting a passport wont be hard. Maybe this is another avenue that could be checked if he's got one the correct way.

I've nearly given up of ever getting any money back from the crooks but I hope that they will pay for the hurt and heartache they've caused. The treagusts duped everyone for a long time so getting a passport will be nothing to them. Maybe there is a way we can check to see if he's had one through the correct channels?? I'm sure I've heard somewhere that they had children so if he was still in spain then they should be in school, if not then we know he's gone to ground or fled. When I filed a denunciation with the police concerning the Treagusts I was given a contact number to call for updates. I will be in Spain soon and will follow up, if I hear anything I will let you know.

Rumour is he's now living in somewhere called Tottington in lancashire according to the link below. I've googled it and it's north of manchester. What can be done if he has in fact now left spain and gone back to the UK??

Mike, have you spoken to the Spanish police yet and if yes do you have any definite information regarding the whereabouts of the Treagusts? I fear they've gone back to the UK and that the rumours are in fact true
