International Stew with Balls Competition 2026
ON SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 7, THE VII EDITION OF THE INTERNATIONAL COCIDO CONTEST WILL BE HELD AT THE MUNICIPAL LEISURE CENTER (CMO)
This gastronomic brotherhood is in charge of spreading and publicising the Traditional Cocido, and especially the Cocido con Pelotas, typical of the city of Torrevieja.
About twenty teams will participate in this contest in the different specialties of the Cocido, which are: International Cocido, Spanish Regional Cocido, Traditional Cocido con Pelotas and Cocido con Pelotas authentically Torrevejense
As it is an amateur competition, professional chefs are not allowed to participate, who may, however, participate in exhibition mode or out of competition
One more year, the Department of the Elderly of the Torrevieja City Council, together with the Gastronomic Brotherhood of the Cocido con Pelotas, organizes the International Stew Contest, this being its seventh edition.
The Contest will take place on Saturday, February 7, at the Municipal Leisure Center (CMO), where the twenty teams that are expected to participate in the contest will meet in the different specialties of the Cocido which are:
-International Cocido
-Spanish Regional Stew
-Traditional Stew with Balls
-Cocido con Pelotas authentically Torrevejense
The International Stew Competition is open to all cooking enthusiasts, of legal age, regardless of profession or nationality. Participation may be either individually or representing an Association, Club, Peña or Group of friends.
As this is an amateur competition, professional chefs are not allowed to participate, who may, however, participate in exhibition mode or out of competition.
All participants will receive commemorative awards and medals.
