Next Saturday, April 22, 2023, at 6pm, the 28th International Youth Contest of Habaneras will take place at the Municipal Theater of Torrevieja.
This event is an international reference for youth and children’s choirs, both inside and outside Spain.
In this edition, four choirs from different parts of the country and the world will participate:
- CORO ARSIS DE LA ESCUELA DE MÚSICA DIVERTIMENTO, Oviedo (Asturias).
- SS. CYRIL AND METHODIUS CHOIR, Véles (Macedonia).
- CORO ENTREOLIVOS, Dos Hermanas (Sevilla).
- CORO ENCANTO, Griñón (Madrid).
Después de la fase de competición, actuarán dos coros mientras el jurado delibera:
- Symphony Choir of the Municipal Choral School, directed by Selena Cancino Escobar
- Coro Menudos Cantores de Madrid, directed by Juan Pablo de Juan Martín.
Finally, after the performances of both choirs, the Awards Ceremony and Closing of the Contest will take place.
The work of obligatory interpretation for the participating choirs will be HBNR2, with lyrics by Ana Galindo and music by Jordi López.
The prizes that will be awarded in this edition are:
- First Prize: 3.000 € and trophy
- Second Prize: 2.000 € and trophy
- Third Prize: €1,000 and trophy
The ticket price to attend the event will be € 5.
