Torrevieja, May 25, 2023 – A fire broke out on Thursday night in the Torreplaya building, located in the Rocío del Mar urbanisation in Torrevieja.
The warning was received at 23:18h and firefighters had managed to extinguish the flames and control the situation by 01:27h in the morning.
The fire originated inside a garage in the apartment block, generating a dense column of smoke that spread quickly.
Faced with this situation, firefighters prioritised the evacuation of the building, ensuring the safety of residents.
In addition, medical assistance was requested due to smoke inhalation in at least seven people.
The fire spread to the entrance of the building, which made extinguishing work difficult due to the accumulated smoke.

To deal with the emergency, various resources from the Torrevieja fire station were mobilised.
