National Police agents have arrested a fugitive in Orihuela who is was wanted by the UK authorities.
The male, who is a 27 year old British national, was wanted for offences of drug trafficking and money laundering after swindling three million euros.
Believing that he had fled the country an International Detention Order was issued by the UK.
At this moment it is not sure why the fugitive chose the province of Alicante as a hiding place but the order meant that he was able to be arrested in Spain.
This has been made available to the Central Investigating Courts of the National High Court, which will be in charge of processing the arrest warrant.
