The Brotherhood of the Cocido con Pelotas de Torrevieja celebrates its V Great Chapter

The Gastronomic Brotherhood of Cocido con Pelotas will celebrate its V Grand Chapter on Sunday, April 27, an emblematic event that will bring together brotherhoods, guests and lovers of traditional Torrevieja gastronomy.

The event will conclude with a musical performance by the Marta Andréu Academy of Music and the traditional family photo.

The event will begin at 11:00 a.m . at the Palacio de la Música, with free admission for the public. After the official reception and the intervention of the Grand Master, a conference dedicated to the cuisine of the Vega Baja will be offered and the awards and distinctions will be presented, among which the following stand out:

• Cocido of the Year Award: Mesón La Huertica
• Golden Spoon: José Manuel Hernández Pérez and José Miguel Sánchez Lorenzo
• Senior Brother: Antonio Ortuño Bernabé
• Knight of the Order of the Adafina: José Ríos Martínez
• New Brothers: Christian Sáez Murcia and Manuel Carrillo Espadas
• Commander: Eduardo Dolón Sánchez, Mayor of Torrevieja

The event will conclude with a musical performance by the Marta Andréu Academy of Music and the traditional family photo.

At 2:30 p.m., the celebration will continue with a Gala Banquet in the restaurant on the first floor of the Casino de Torrevieja, enlivened by DJ Elías. The menu, which will be priced at €50 per person, includes soup with ball, complete turkey stew, starters, dessert, glass of cava and drinks.

Places for the meal are limited and require prior reservation by cash payment or bank transfer to the Brotherhood’s account before April 22.
