The night of San Juan 2022 will be celebrated in Torrevieja with traditional bonfires on the beach and a fireworks display.
The City Council will deliver free wood for the celebration of bonfires on the beach.
The firework display lasts approximately 20 minutes
On the eve of the night of San Juan, hundreds of people gather on the beaches of Torrevieja to celebrate a purifying ritual that consists of lighting a bonfire in the sand of Torrevieja beach and jumping on it, in order to get rid of every bad thing that has happened to us during the year.
Subsequently, the ceremony ends by putting your feet in the water for a short time to receive the full force of the sea.
On the night of Thursday, June 23rd, at 11:30pm there will be a fireworks display accompanied by music (pyromusical show) from the natural lakess of Paseo Juan Aparicio in Torrevieja (map).
In this pyrotechnic and musical show, the effects of fireworks will be combined with soundtracks from films such as Rocky, Star Wars and The Lion King.
When is the night of San Juan in Torrevieja?
The night of San Juan is celebrated every year on the night of June 23rd, that is, on the eve of June 24rd, the day of San Juan.
Access to the beaches will be controlled by security forces to prevent the use of wood that can leave dangerous residues in the sand.
The City Council will deliver pine wood to anyone who wants to celebrate the night of San Juan on the beaches of Torrevieja by lighting a bonfire on the beach. This type of wood leaves hardly any residue in the sand.
