Two of the detainees have been sent to prison
The Civil Guard in Torrevieja have arrested two men and a woman, all of Spanish nationality, 32, 33 and 43 years old, as alleged perpetrators several robberies and thefts.
Agents of the Investigation Area of the Main Post of Torrevieja have arrested three people for their alleged involvement in various crimes against property, mostly committed in public establishments.
The first offence, on July 29th, was reported by the manager of a local business whose shutters had been forced, however in this instance nothing was taken.
That same day, a robbery occurred in a 24-hour establishment. According to the complainant, both the access gate and a door had been forced with the intention of removing the cash register drawer, which contained about 200 euros.
In both events, after several efforts to clarify the facts, the investigators managed to identify the alleged perpetrators, two men in their 30s, who are habitual criminals from Torrevieja.
With this information, the police decided to review other incidents of a similar nature that were related to establishments open to the public and that were still unresolved.
From this analysis, two more crimes were indentified:
The first, a crime of theft committed on July 11th, also at dawn, in a restaurant in the marina. This time it was not two men, but one of those males previously identified who, together with a woman, stole the cash register. In their flight, they were surprised by the receptionist who was at the time at the port, she managed to detain the woman. The man, meanwhile, threw away the cash register that contained about 1,500 euros.
The second was that of a robbery carried out at 3 in the morning on July 16th, in an establishment in the centre. The protagonist was surprised by a couple who, when passing saw him kicking the door and trying to force it with a screwdriver. A chase ensued and when the witness caught up with the perpetrator he was threatened with the screwdriver.
Including the latter, a total of four crimes were solved: two robberies with force (one of them attempted), one robbery with intimidation and theft.
The woman was charged with a theft, one of the men was charged with robbery with force and the attempted robbery, and the third accused all of the offences.
The two men were brought before the Magistrate of Court No. 1 in Torrevieja who sent them to prison. The woman was released on bail.
