The Doña Sinforosa Park is located in front of Acequión Beach, on the beachfront, and is considered one of the best parks in Torrevieja.
It is one of the few green areas in Torrevieja and inside it has generous specimens of eucalyptus, pines and palm trees that give shelter to a wide variety of exotic birds.

This romantic-inspired park has a pavilion where outdoor concerts are held, fountains, benches, public toilets and a fenced section as a pee can for dogs.
The venue is completely fenced and its opening hours to the public are from 10:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Next to the park, runs the Acequíon channel that connects the salt lagoon with the Mediterranean Sea.
And in front of the Doña Sinforosa park, the structure of the warehouse where wooden boats were once built by the master caulkers still stands.
Doña Sinforosa, the park that almost didn’t see the light of day in Torrevieja

Before being a public park, this site was known as “La casa de los Portales”; it was an immense house built at the beginning of the twentieth century on the beachfront.
Of all its owners, the most famous and loved by the inhabitants of Torrevieja was Mrs. Doña Sinforosa, appreciated for her charity and for having no qualms about letting the children of the town visit the gardens whenever they wanted.
It is said that the house was always overflowing with guests, and it is that Doña Sinforosa made the enclosure a place of leisure and enjoyment for all her neighbors and relatives.
The biodiversity of the park was so interesting that in the past it was listed as of environmental scientific interest and today it is valued by citizens as an authentic oasis by the sea.

With the death of the last owners and the expropriation of the land by the city council, the fate of Doña Sinforosa’s garden hung in the balance, as the possibility of cementing two immense skyscrapers on top of it, in the purest Benidorm style, was considered.
But due to various social pressures and the efforts of the citizens of Torrevieja, the gardens were preserved and converted into a Public Park.
Thanks to these actions, today you can visit the Doña Sinforosa Park, undoubtedly one of the most beautiful and peaceful parks in Torrevieja.
As a curious fact, it should be noted that the pavilion that characterizes this park was initially built on the Paseo Vista Alegre, then it was moved to the Plaza de la Constitución and finally ended up in the Doña Sinforosa Garden.
