Holy Week 2024 will take place between March 24 (Palm Sunday), and March 31.
The Holy Week of 2024 will be the shortest of the last 8 years and the most nocturnal, since the time will not change until March 31 (The clocks going forward 1 hour). This will make the days shorter because it will get dark earlier.
Lenten events prior to the celebration of Holy Week in Torrevieja 2024
Holy Week 2016 was also celebrated in March.
This situation will be repeated in 2027, when Holy Week is celebrated from March 21 to March 28.
How are the dates of Holy Week determined?
The lunar calendar establishes the dates for the celebration of Holy Week, coinciding on Easter Monday with the appearance of the first full moon of spring, which in the next year will fall precisely on Monday, March 25, 2024.
The Junta Mayor de Cofradías de Torrevieja, in collaboration with the City Council of Torrevieja and the Immaculate Parish, organize the processions of Holy Week 2024 that will travel every night through the streets of the city for 1 week.

Then, from the doors of the Parish of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
