More than a hundred species of birds live alongside some amphibians and many reptiles in the park that is made up of two lagoons separated by a strip of land. There is also a series of levels of vegetation around the lagoons, fundamentally determined by the salinity of the earth and the use that man makes of the land.
The importance of the Torrevieja and La Mata lagoons can be appreciated by the fact that they constitute 52% of the municipal area. This unique environment is a “must” for all nature lovers.

Very disappointed to see that the Irish Tricolour is no longer flying in Nations park a lot of Irish are in Torrevieja, I visit at least twice a year, alwys was flying but not this year its nice to see your country brepresented with all the other contruies flags, Hope to see in in October when I visit again
