The Gastronomic Brotherhood of Cocido con Pelotas de Torrevieja will celebrate next Saturday, May 30, 2026 , a new edition of the long-awaited “Fiesta del Cocido a la Leña”, a gastronomic event that will bring together lovers of traditional cuisine around one of the most emblematic dishes of Torrevieja gastronomy.
The day will take place at the facilities of Cárnicas Ríos and will take place from 1:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., offering attendees a unique culinary experience made entirely over firewood, respecting the essence and flavor of traditional recipes.
The full menu will be priced at 35 euros and will include food, drink and dessert. Attendees will be able to enjoy a buffet table of varied appetizers, grilled sausages and salad until it is time to serve the stew.
The main course will be the traditional stew made over wood and served in the centerpiece. In addition, this year you will be able to taste two types of ball: the traditional one and an innovative version made with artichoke, a proposal that the Brotherhood continues to develop after the success of previous gastronomic presentations.
In the drinks section, the menu includes water, soft drinks, beer and wine until dessert time.
Children’s area with bouncy castle and special ticket of €10 for children up to 12 years old.
The party will also feature live music, flamenco dance performances and entertainment with varied dance, creating a festive atmosphere designed to enjoy with friends and family.
The event has the collaboration of Cárnicas Ríos, a firm closely linked to traditional Torrevieja gastronomy and recognized for its support of numerous culinary and solidarity initiatives in the city.
The Gastronomic Brotherhood of Cocido con Pelotas thus continues with its work of promoting and conserving one of the most deeply rooted culinary traditions of Torrevieja. Founded in 2013, the entity works to keep alive the ancestral recipe of cocido con pelotas, a dish that is part of the local identity and that is traditionally consumed on special dates such as the Day of the Immaculate Conception.
In the edition held last year, the party brought together dozens of attendees and also served as a stage for the presentation of innovative versions of the traditional ball, including proposals made with artichoke, always maintaining respect for the original Torrevieja recipe.
The organization recommends making the reservation in advance due to the limited capacity.
